CHIQIO is an art brand founded in Shanghai in 2020 by Tang Li, a Chinese designer and filmmaker with a solid belief that all CHIQIO creations are for unique characters.

There is always that one character who affects your soul so deeply that you find your calling and give your all to chase the dream in your heart. At the same time, you inadvertently influence the people behind you.

A product, a costume, a film is made for one character.

About Name

CHIQIO is derived from ZHIQIAO, the pinyin abbreviation of the Chinese name “之乔”(zhīqiáo).

“之乔” literally means “to go to the place where there are tall trees”.

CHIQIO—”To places with tall trees.”

About Creations

With an aesthetic of simplicity and profundity, Tang Li has collaborated with a number of local Chinese perfumers to develop fragrances in a creative way that is in line with the brand’s philosophy.

CHIQIO aims to give the fragrance to those who appreciate it and use it as a medium of communication, inviting them to participate in the brand’s artistic pursuits.

“In 2020, under a large tree in hometown, Me looked up in fascination and stared blankly at the canopy. Me happened to smell something had never smelt before, a scent that felt strong but pleasant and jogged my memory. Later realized that home town smelt like this at this time of year. The beauty was that after a long journey, the man was back home then.”
