Instantly sniffing the perfume, you smell a decadent scent that reminds you of adventures in a forest you had as a kid. You realize that this may be a scent that you’ve been looking for all this time. You want to get the word out and tell everyone what it smells like, but how do you put this scent in words?
I can think of many ways to describe this fragrance with words. The easiest way to figure out how to put it in words is to look at pictures and color palettes, along with thinking of what kind of people you think would wear this fragrance.
Forest Child and Its Atmosphere
It’s easy to say that the intended association CHIQIO wants customers to have with their Forest Child perfume is a forest. Aside from the title of the perfume and the description of the perfume itself; the photographs of Forest Child emphasize the color green and the perfume is surrounded by lush foliage. Even with the alternate black perfume bottle, you can still see pieces of green moss surrounding the perfume.

When I first saw pictures of the Forest Child perfume, I started to associate the perfume with bamboo. This was not only due to the green colors on the perfume bottle itself, but also due to the bottle being long and narrow like bamboo trees.
Interestingly enough, the wooden cap also makes the perfume resemble the colors of a bamboo shoot; as bamboo shoots may have brown colors meshed with the typical green.

However, when I obtained the perfume and smelt it myself, the smell made me start associating the perfume with pine trees. This is perhaps due to the strong cologne-like scent that is in the product, which could be due to the collision of black pepper and tobacco.
The smell largely emphasizes a natural forest ecosystem, not only due to its thematics, but also due to the ingredients in the perfume. Not only is there black pepper and tobacco in the perfume, but there is also orange, violet, vetiver, sandalwood, ylang-ylang, and jupiter. They all paint a picture of what someone traversing inside of a forest may find on their journey, which may be flowers and various fruits.
Due to the usage of flowers, there seems to be a hint of a floral scent. Ironically enough, this seems to transform into the smell of a running stream of water the more that its smelt.
I feel like this scent could be associated with an ample waterfall that rains down and roars at every creature and human who walks close to it. Though a torrential waterfall is not the only body of water that I can associate this perfume with.
I could also imagine this scent as a gently streaming river, with a pathway created by ample graphite colored rocks dug into the streambed. As you walk towards the stream and cross it, you begin to smell the scent of fresh water as it hits your legs. Overall, these actions lead to a feeling of tranquility and a connection to the forest that you’re in.
Regardless of my associations changing after I had obtained my sample, I feel like it can all be connected to an environment where trees and grass are abundant, with the occasional body of water such as a lake, a river, or a waterfall.

As mentioned previously, one of the first aspects of the perfume I took note of was the pale green color of the perfume’s bottle. Even after purchasing my sample, I still associate that color with the perfume to this day.
However, this is not the only color association that I have with Forest Child. I feel like every shade of green can easily be associated with the perfume due to the photos emphasizing foliage and forest terrains. Grass, trees, and moss vary between colors; and in turn, so can the shades of greens that can be associated with Forest Child.
I also associate Forest Child with brown due to it being the color of roots, dirt, and mud; three things that are a universal part of a forest. The wooden cap also helps me associate this color with Forest Child, especially since the cap had already made me partially think of the perfume bottle as a bamboo shoot.
Black is another color that I associate with Forest Child. This is not only because of the alternative black bottle, but it is also due to the spray-painted alloy label on the bottle. The color black is also commonplace in Forest Child’s photos, whether it be an intentional color in the background or the shadows of the photo.
Green, black, and brown are the top three patterns that I associate with the Forest Child perfume as a whole. However, I feel like there can be other colors that fit with the perfume such as a muted yellow, red, or orange to emphasize the fruit and flowers that are scattered across the forest landscapes.
Who would wear Forest Child?

When it comes to the type of person who would wear Forest Child, I feel like the scent is perfect for nomadic people who enjoy frequent hiking and walking trips and love thinking about where they will go on their next adventure. Whenever these types of people get the desire to remember the trips they have taken, they could simply spray this fragrance and let the sense of nostalgia wash over them.
This perfume would also be pleasant for those who may be sentimental over nature-related events that may have happened in their childhood, such as camping trips.
Even if someone was never able to camp during their childhood, Forest Child could still help bring them back to the days when they played outdoors without a care in the world. There could also be a possibility that it reminds them of a family gathering that took place in a wooded area.
A family gathering is one of the memories that I associate this fragrance with. Forest Child helps me remember the family gathering I went to where we ate barbecued food and I was surrounded by pine trees that seemed to reach to the sun.
It was one of the first instances where I got curious about nature. Ever since this moment, I have had a strong passion for nature and want to spend as much time exploring it as I possibly can.
Despite the title and theme being inspired by a child playing in the forest, I feel like this perfume is better for adults. It is highly unlikely that kids would take an interest in the perfume as they would be more interested in playing inside a forest. Teens may not be too interested in the fragrance either, opting for different types of scents that may be currently popular in the market.
Adults would be able to appreciate this perfume more as they have experienced various events in their lives, especially those that are connected with nature. The career someone may have and the amount of money they may make does not matter when it comes to indulging in this perfume. I feel like people from all walks of life can enjoy this perfume as long as they have a passion or feel nostalgic about nature.
The smell of Forest Child is also rather androgynous. Despite the masculine scents that make it resemble cologne, women could also enjoy the scent due to the floral aspects. The part of the smell that resembles flowing bodies of water can be perfect for just about any gender, as every human needs water in their everyday lives. Thanks to these different aspects of the scent, Forest Child can be enjoyed by everyone.
Forest Child and its Worldly Connection (Conclusion)
(Chiqio.com)
Regardless of the different associations people may have with the Forest Child perfume, the one thing that ties these associations together is the perfume’s connection to nature.
Nature is the pinnacle of CHIQIO’s creation and I feel like the company wants its customers to remember nostalgic memories that they may have experienced in nature, even if it may have been a brief memory of playing outside during childhood. It brings nature lovers together and grants them the ability to continuously enjoy their favorite parts of nature in their everyday lives, whether it be work or hanging out with friends.
Forest Child is an impeccable perfume with a relaxing smell that is perfect for just about anyone who has a passion for nature, no matter how big or small that passion is.
