Before delving into the concept of Artworkism, it’s crucial to explore the notion of “character.” Artworkism is a philosophy of life rooted in the perspective of the character “creator”. If the roles are different, the power of faith can hardly take root.
Much like a spirited horse realizing its true calling while galloping, when an individual discovers their authentic character, each day thereafter shines brilliantly.
If a person wants to achieve himself, he needs to take action first. To really carry out the action, we need motivation and will. Man’s motivation will come from his three views, and one’s three views basically lie in the cognition of type of self-role in life.
The Power of Characters
We must not underestimate the influence of character perception on an individual.
Renowned actor Ng Man Tat once said, “I may play supporting roles, but I approach them as if they were leading character.”
Entrepreneur Steve Jobs famously remarked, “My passion has been to build an enduring company where people were motivated to make great products.”
Director Ang Lee noted, “I believe directors are similar to semiconductors—sensing something and then transmitting it to the masses through their bodies. This stimulation awakens emotions, fires up imaginations, and provokes contemplation—a crucial essence of filmmaking.”
Characters and life goals are two sides of the same coin. However, characters place a stronger emphasis on personal identity, accompanied by a corresponding sense of purpose.
If, for instance, one aspires to embody the role of a “teacher,” the mission of nurturing minds and hearts becomes their character’s purpose. Actively unlocking students’ potentials and enabling them to excel becomes the teacher’s lifelong source of pride. When one’s character is that of a “teacher,” one possesses a self-awareness that guides their decisions, knowing what to engage in and what to refrain from. Such is the power of roles.
Discovering one’s role is immensely significant.
Find Your Character
“Who am I?”
Regrettably, there’s no shortcut to answering this question; it often requires a moment of revelation. It might be sparked by an offhand remark from someone on your birthday, a passage in a book, or a scene in a movie that ignites your thoughts. More likely, it’s an epiphany that strikes you while quietly gazing out of a window during an afternoon nap.
Our perspective is that answers are found through practice rather than solely pondering in bed.
The right answer will captivate you profoundly, filling you with strength and inspiration.
